Quicktime export problems with Adrenaline

Postby Maguiremedia » Tue Jan 05, 2010 8:52 am

Hi I'm trying to create Quicktime files with clean edges for multimedia, but when I export from my avid I get this

Note the black vertical lines on the edge of screen and the black line half way across the top. I'm digitizing from DVCPRO PAL my settings 25i for the project. I'm importing footage shot on DVCPRO25 set to 16:9. I've also tried a few 4:3 tapes and same black lines on the edges. I can aslo see these black edges in the clip and composer monitor. I have my monitors set to 16:9.
If I've gone through all codecs and export format settings and still this black edging.
I'm working on version v2.0.2

I've ruled out DVCPRO problems by trying different machines and even importing a comp signal from both a 610 and 900 panasonic DVCPRO camera. Any suggestions, advice, help please!

This is typical and normal. I don't think I have ever seen Avid-captured material covering the frame with image edge-to-edge. It is editors' most common task to crop frames in any picture in picture situation. If you want to get rid of it in the QT export, you have to crop.
