Avid versus After Effects

Postby jsmmeyer » Thu Oct 09, 2008 11:44 am

All,
I'm getting ready to step up to more powerful editing software. Can anyone provide me with additional insight as to the differences between Avid and After Effects ? Any assistance or information on the pro's and con's is appreciated. Thanks in advance,

J

Those two are completely different animals.
After Effects is for compositing - relatively short effects-incentive programs.
Avid is an editor, best suited for longer programs without intricate effects, but with real time playback capabilities.

Thank you Andrei. This is the type of information I am looking for to determine what will best serve my needs and what each is capable of as well as what it is not.
